Trying to find programming instructions for the Alarm Lock Trilogy DL2800? This is the right place for you.
Here, I’ll explain how to change the Trilogy DL2800 Master Code, add and delete User Codes, and reset the factory settings.
There are two modes on the Trilogy DL2800 – normal and programming mode. In order to program your lock – for example, to add or delete User Codes, you must first put it in programming mode.

Changing the Master Code on Your Trilogy DL2800
Trilogy lock models come with default master codes, and DL2800 is no exception.
It’s a factory default code. By entering this code, you will be able to access programming mode and make changes to the lock’s program..
There is no doubt that others will be able to do this as well, so you need to make sure you change this code as soon as possible in order to ensure security.
Here’s how to change the Master Code on a Trilogy DL2800 lock:
- Using the keypad, set your lock in Programming Mode by entering the default Master Code (123456). Wait for the green light to illuminate. In case the Master Code has been changed in the past, enter the current one
- When you see the green light, press the AL button for a few seconds until you hear multiple beeps. Your lock should now be in programming mode, and it will beep every six seconds to remind you that it is in programming mode
- Press the AL button first. Then press the number 1 key
- Press the AL button again and enter your new Master Code. (6 digits)
- You have to press the AL button once again and re-enter the new Master Code to confirm it. Now press the star button to finish. The lock will beep and flash the red LED to confirm that the new master code has been set
To exit Programming Mode, hold any keypad button for 3 seconds. The lock will beep multiple times to confirm your exit.
Important note: If you have acquired a pre-owned Trilogy lock, changing the Master Code ensures that only you can access the programming mode and make changes to the lock’s programming.
Adding New User Codes to Your Trilogy DL2800 Lock
User codes are usually three to six-digit codes that you must enter in order to unlock a lock. This code is similar to a passcode or access code.
In the Trilogy DL2800, users can store up to 200 codes as well as delete/change any of them as the user sees fit. Therefore, you can use these codes for giving people access to your property.
It’s a must-have feature since the DL2800 is a commercial-grade lock.
To add a User Code to your Trilogy DL2800 keypad lock, follow these steps:
- First, enter your current Master Code and then press the AL button.
- Press the AL button and press the number 2 key.
- Press the AL button again and enter a user number. [Note: A user number is not the same as a user code, but rather it is a number associated with a user code. Every user code must be linked with a user number. For example, if you want to add a second user, you have to enter 2 because this user code is meant for the 2nd user.]
- After adding a user number, press the AL button, then enter a new User Code and press the Star button to finish.
Additionally, you can add more user codes using the same method.
Deleting one User Code
Here is how to delete a user code:
- Switch to programming mode using your current Master Code and press the AL button
- Press the AL button and then press the user number whose user code you want to delete. If you want to delete the second user code, just simply press 2.
- Press the AL button and enter the User Code you want to delete.
- Press the AL button again and then press the star “*” button to delete the user code.
Delete all User Codes
Here’s how to delete all programmed User Codes except the Master Code at once:
- Put your lock in programming mode (enter your Master Code and press the AL button).
- Press the AL button and then press 1 and 0 (10).
- Press the AL button and enter 000.
- Now press the star ”*” button to complete the process.
The lock will beep and show green light confirming that all User Codes/users have been successfully deleted.
Changing a User Code
This is how to change a User Code:
- Enter your current Master Code and press the AL button to activate programming mode.
- Press the AL button and press the number 2 key.
- Press the AL button and enter the user number linked to the User Code you want to change.
- Press the AL button and enter a new User Code. Then press the Star button.
You should test both the new and old codes to ensure the changes have been made properly.
Enable/Disable Users on Trilogy DL2800
Any User Code must be linked to a unique user number, so you can technically disable a User Code by disabling the user number. Disabling a user number is an alternative to deleting or changing a user code.
Here’s how to do it:
Enable:
- Enter your Master Code and press the AL button.
- Press the AL button and then press 4.
- Press the AL button, enter the user number to be enabled, and then press the Star button.
Disable:
- Type in your current Master Code and then press the AL button.
- Press the AL button and then press 3.
- Press the AL button, enter the user number you want to disable, and then press the Star button.
Once you disable a user number, the User Code associated with that number will not unlock the lock until you enable it.
Enable/Disable Passage Mode
When the passage mode is enabled, the door will remain unlocked for some time, allowing anyone to access it without requiring a User Code. If you’re using a commercial door lock, you may want to keep the door unlocked during business hours.
Here’s how to enable Passage Mode:
- Type in your Master Code and press the AL button.
- Press the AL button and then enter 4 and 5 (45).
- Now press the star ”*” button to complete the process.
To disable Passage Mode, follow these steps:
- Type in your Master Code and press the AL button.
- Press the AL button and then enter 4 and 6 (46).
- Now press the star ”*” button to complete the process.
Timed Passage Mode
Timed Passage Mode also allows you to disable passage mode automatically based on a set time value, so you don’t have to worry about disabling it manually.
You can enable Timed Passage Mode by following these steps:
- Input your current Master Code and then press the AL button.
- Press the AL button and then press 4 and 7 (47).
- Push the AL button and enter your preferred time value in hours. For instance, 012(for 12 hours).
- Press the Star button to complete the process.
Auto-Lock/Pass Time
This feature will automatically relock your lock after you have left it unlocked for some period of time, depending on the time value you set.
Here is how you can enable Auto-Lock:
- Put in your Master Code and press the AL button.
- Press the AL button, enter 5 and 1 (51), and then press the Star button. This will set the Pass Time from 3 to 5 seconds.
- To set Pass Time to 10 seconds, repeat steps 1 and 2 but enter 5 and 2 (52) instead of 51. And for 15 seconds, enter 5 and 3 (53). (The same steps but different numbers in step 2).
How to Factory Reset Trilogy Lock DL2800
Resetting your lock will erase all previous programming, requiring you to program it again with the default Master Code.
For Trilogy DL2800 locks, here is how to reset them:
- Enter your Master Code and then press the AL button.
- Press the AL button and then enter 99.
- Press the AL button and press 000 and then press the Star button.
You have now reset your lock to factory default settings. The lock will beep and show lights to confirm the change.
Final Words
As long as you follow all of the tips above, you should be able to program your Trilogy DL2800. Not everything is covered here, so some information may be missing. But I tried to cover as much as I could.
